Through the Woods Design creates gardens with artistic flair and creative style. We specialize in creating custom residential landscape design and installation services throughout Southern California.
Our designs fill a broad range of needs including the following:

What is Required to Start:
The first step to designing a beautiful garden is for the designer and client to get together and work out a "program." This is where the designer finds out from the client, what effect they are trying to achieve with their garden and landscaping, and what they specifically need and want.
Some people think that the way to achieve a dream garden is to simply let the designer have carte blanche, in other words, to do whatever creative things they want. We don’t believe this is the right approach, because it often leads to a landscape design that the client doesn’t like or can’t agree to.
So we believe it is better to work together with you, find out what ideas you have, any specifics you have in mind such as certain plants or hardscape ideas, and then create a design from there. We will bring our creativity, experience and training to bear, but we do it in such a way as to achieve the effect you are looking for. After all, this is all for you.
Annie St. Claire, President and Principal Designer for Through the Woods Design, has over 18 years experience designing custom residential landscapes throughout greater L.A. She is a licensed general contractor (License #876838), and a graduate of UCLA’s Landscape Architecture program. Her designs have been featured at the Pasadena Showcase House of Design and on HGTV’s Landscapers Challenge.
